Wudu Reference

Make the sincere intention in your heart to perform wudu for the sake of Allah. The intention is in the heart, not spoken aloud.

Wash both hands thoroughly up to and including the wrists, three times. Start with the right hand, ensuring water reaches between the fingers.

Take a handful of water into the mouth, swirl it thoroughly around all teeth and gums, then spit it out. Repeat three times.

Sniff water into the nostrils with the right hand, then blow it out with the left. Repeat three times.

Wash the entire face three times — from the top of the forehead (where hair begins) to the chin, and from earlobe to earlobe.

Wash each arm from the fingertips up to and including the elbows, three times. Begin with the right arm.

Pass both wet hands over the head once — from the front hairline to the nape of the neck, then return to the front.

Using the same water from wiping the head, insert the index fingers into the ear canals and wipe the inner ears, while the thumbs wipe the outer ear folds.

Wash each foot up to and including the ankle bones, three times. Begin with the right foot. Use the left hand's little finger to clean between toes.

After completing wudu, raise the gaze toward the sky and recite the duʿāʾ of completion.
